Movie Thoughts: Belfast

I was bored. Another award-showered film that bored the fuck out of me.

This film seems to have substance. It’s the latest in class of movies that we’re told are good but don’t hold my sugar-fed peasant attention. Maybe it’s my fault but that’s what it is.

The performances, graded on the curve of it didn’t engage me — Jude Hill is a little too cutesy for my tastes but the kid holds the movie up. Jamie Dornan hasn’t quite rid himself of Christian Grey the way Robert Pattinson has rid himself of Edward Cullen, but he’s well on his way. Dashing motherfucker, that…
