Movie Thoughts: The Power of the Dog

I saw this partially on Netflix back in December, I think. I didn’t finish it. I went to the Michigan Theater and saw it because 1) its Oscar noms, and 2) I wanted to see a movie in the Michigan Theater’s beautiful main auditorium, which I hadn’t done since The Irishman in November 2019.

This movie is promoted by its award season accolades. I found it slow as fuck. It’s gorgeously shot, as only westerns can be — the landscape does all the work for you. New Zealand plays Montana here.
